Creating Sustainable Performance

A TrakSYS-powered maintenance transformation at Toshiba America Business Solutions, delivered with Parsec partner Toward Zero

Toshiba America Business Solutions has produced toner for printers and copiers at its Mitchell, South Dakota facility for more than three decades. With a strong culture of quality and operational discipline, the organization supports high-volume production across multiple lines.

Over time, the maintenance team faced growing constraints from manual processes and an aging CMMS that lacked meaningful data and integration with enterprise systems. These limitations led to excess spare parts inventory, reactive maintenance work, and friction between maintenance and production teams.

To address these challenges, Toshiba partnered with Toward Zero to extend its existing TrakSYS manufacturing operations platform with CMMS capabilities, aligning maintenance activities with real-time production insight and shared operational objectives.

In this case study, we explore how Toward Zero worked with Toshiba America Business Solutions to:

  • Align maintenance management with live production and equipment data
  • Replace reactive maintenance with more proactive, data-driven practices
  • Improve collaboration between maintenance and production teams
  • Digitalize work orders, inventory tracking, and preventive maintenance processes
  • Establish a unified system of record connected to existing ERP systems
